WBSC, Mizuno extend official softball partnership through 2029
The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) today announced the extension of its Official Partnership Agreement with Mizuno Corporation through 31 December 2029, reinforcing a long-standing strategic collaboration that ensures continuity, quality and elite performance standards across international softball competitions worldwide.
Under the new four-year agreement, Mizuno will remain the WBSC Official Softball and Official Softball Umpire Equipment Supplier on an exclusive worldwide basis.
The agreement covers all WBSC Softball World Cups across women’s, men’s and youth categories, as well as the LA28 Olympic Softball Qualifiers. As an Official Supplier, Mizuno will benefit from comprehensive commercial and marketing rights, including global brand exposure, digital integration and on-site activation opportunities across WBSC events.
Mizuno’s M170 softball — inspired by the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations Agenda 2030 — will continue to serve as the Official Competition Ball of WBSC Softball World Cups. The ball meets the highest international performance and quality standards required for elite global competition, ensuring consistency and excellence at every level of play.
WBSC President Riccardo Fraccari said: “Extending our partnership with Mizuno provides stability and continuity at the highest level of international softball. Mizuno has consistently delivered equipment that meets the technical demands of our athletes and officials, while also aligning with our broader vision of sustainability and global development. This renewed agreement strengthens the foundations of our Softball World Cups and the pathway to LA28.”
Mizuno Corporation President Akito Mizuno added: “We are truly pleased to extend our partnership with the WBSC once again. The renewed agreement reaffirms both organisations’ shared commitment to quality, innovation and sustainability in the development of softball equipment, while further strengthening the global platform of WBSC international competitions. Mizuno remains committed to supporting the continued growth and future development of softball around the world through this collaboration”.
