Introduction
Parasport refers to adapted disciplines of Baseball/Softball/Baseball5 that can be played by athletes with an impairment. WBSC recognises Blind Baseball (BLB) as one of the forms of baseball for blind and visually impaired athletes.
Blind Baseball was invented by the AIBXC (Italian Association of Blind Baseball) and is a dynamic and fast team sport that help athletes improve their autonomy and mobility. The discipline is being offered to the WBSC Member Federations thanks to a cooperation agreement between the AIBXC and the WBSC. National Federations interested in starting and developing Blind Baseball in their countries/territories should contact their Continental Liaison and refer to the Procedure to be followed by NFs to access BLB Development Funds.
The Report on the Development of BLB worldwide contains more information about the countries/regions where Blind Baseball is present as well as WBSC goals for the expansion of para-sports in the coming years.
