Rosa del Castillo’s gem, balanced offence give Mexico third consecutive win
Ace Rosa del Castillo pitched a shutout with five strikeouts and three hits, keeping Mexico's winning streak alive with a 10-0 six-inning victory over Korea in Game 14 of the WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup in Thunder Bay, Canada.
Nine Mexicans players hit safely during the game, with third baseman Edith de Leija leading the way with a 3-for-4 performance. All 11 Mexican hitters in the game recorded at least one hit or an RBI.
Korea’s only three hits of the game came off the bat of hitters Hyeonah Kim, Jua Park and Seojin Yang.
With the win, Mexico improved its record to 3-1 and are in great position to secure a ticket to the Finals. Korea have lost its chance to advance to next year's world championship stage after their fourth consecutive loss in the tournament.
