USA Softball International Cup schedule announced; Six WBSC Women's Softball World Cup teams in action

Australia, Canada, China, Japan, Chinese Taipei and USA will play in the USA Softball International Cup as well as the WBSC Women's Softball World Cup Group Stage.

USA Softball has announced the official game schedule for the 2026 USA Softball International Cup, which will take place from 30 July to 3 August at Devon Park in Oklahoma City, the venue for the softball competition at the LA28 Olympic Games, with single-session tickets going on sale 28 May.

Returning to Oklahoma City for the first time in six years, the five-day event will feature 20 games as some of the top teams in the world compete on the international stage as part of a busy international softball calendar.

Six teams - Australia, Canada, China, Japan, Chinese Taipei and USA - will play in the USA Softball International Cup as well as the WBSC Women's Softball World Cup Group Stage.

Australia, Canada and Chinese Taipei will play in the WBSC Women's Softball World Cup Group Prague from 16–20 June, Japan will participate in WBSC Women's Softball World Cup Group Lima from from 14–18 July while China and USA will use the 2026 USA Softball International Cup for preparation for WBSC Women's Softball World Cup Group Oklahoma City, which will also be staged at Devon Park from 12–16 September.

The WBSC Women's Softball World Cup 2026/2027 is the first qualification tournament for the softball tournament at the LA28 Olympic Games.

A WBSC-sanctioned event, the 2026 USA Softball International Cup will feature world-ranked No. 1 Japan, No. 2 USA, No. 4 Canada, No. 5 Chinese Taipei, No. 8 China and No. 11 Australia, along with No. 42 American Samoa and Team USA’s Women’s Elite Team. The eight participating teams have been divided into two groups:

  • Group A: American Samoa; Chinese Taipei; Japan; U.S. Women’s Elite Team.
  • Group B: Australia; Canada; China; U.S. Women’s National Team.

Following pool play, the top two teams from each group will advance to the play-off round on Sunday, 2 August with the medal games slated for Monday, 3 August. 

USA has compiled an 83-8 all-time record at the USA Softball International Cup while claiming 11 of the event’s 14 titles since 2005, with Japan earning the other three. Silver-medal finishes in 2005, 2013 and 2016 mark the only times USA did not capture gold before winning the tournament’s latest three editions from 2017-2019.

The hosts hold the tournament records for Most Hits (75 – 2019), Most Runs Scored (59 – 2006) and Lowest ERA (0.20 – achieved twice).

The USA Women’s Elite Team has also competed in the International Cup on three occasions — 2010, 2016 and 2018.
