Barranquilla Caimanes three-peat as Colombian Professional Baseball League champions

The Caimanes defeated the Cartagena Tigres in five games and celebrated their 15th pennant. Leadoff hitter Carlos Arroyo earned MVP honours.

The Barranquilla Caimanes defeated the Cartagena Tigers in five games to claim the Colombian Professional Baseball League 2025-26 title.

The Caimanes succeeded themselves, clinching their 15th overall pennant, the third consecutive.

Barranquilla came from behind to win the rubber match, 8-2, at the Once de Noviembre Stadium in Cartagena. The Caimanes used a six-run top of the sixth, capped by a two-RBI single by third baseman Carlos Arroyo to take control of the game and the series.

Arroyo batted leadoff and went 3-for-5, scoring one run and batting in three. He earned the series MVP Award.

Arroyo, a 24-year-old Minor League Baseball (MiLB) player in the Atlanta Braves organisation, gave the Caimanes a dramatic 2-1 win in Game One. Barranquilla was trailing 1-0 at the Edgar Renteria Stadium when Arroyo turned the third pitch by reliever Guillermo Zuniga into a two-run walk-off home run.

Arroyo batted third in Game Two, which ended with another close score, 3-2. He went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.
