World No. 3 USA swept the U-15 Baseball Central and North American Qualifier to secure a berth in the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup 2026. The U.S. squad defeated No. 6 Mexico, 10-0, in the last game to clinch first place in the tournament.
For USA, Gavin Chakar pitched three scoreless innings, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out three. Yariel Díaz earned the win in relief, giving up two hits and striking out five over three innings.
Five teams participated in the qualifier: No. 16 Nicaragua (3-1), Mexico (2-2), No. 8 Panama (1-3), and No. 46 Costa Rica (0-4) completed the standings behind the champions.
USA join Venezuela and Cuba as qualified teams from the Americas for next year’s World Cup. No. 1 Japan and No. 2 Chinese Taipei will represent Asia, while No. 16 Czechia and No. 18 Germany will represent Europe.
Two more teams from the Americas are still to be announced. One team each from Africa and Oceania, along with a wild card, will complete the field of 12 teams for the World Cup next year.
