30th Italian Blind Baseball League opens March 28

The defending champions Leonessa Brescia will open in Messina. The 11-team league will have a 10-game regular season running through July 5. The championship game is scheduled for July 18 or 19.

The Italian Blind Baseball League (LIBCI) will open its 30th season during the weekend, with two games scheduled for Saturday, March 28, including the defending champions Leonessa Brescia opening the season in Messina, and three games on Sunday, March 29.

Each field will mourn the late Alberto Mazzanti, the former LIBCI and Italian Blind Baseball Association (AIBxC, a WBSC Associate Member), with a minute of silence.

Each team will play 10 nine-inning games.

The regular season will run through July 5, with the top-four finishers advancing to the semifinals.

The Championship Game is scheduled for July 18 or 19, and the team with the best regular-season record will host.
