WBSC releases 2025 Yearbook in celebration of World Baseball Softball Day

WBSC President Riccardo Fraccari said in his YearBook message: "It was a year of continued growth and historic achievements that demonstrate the strength of our Baseball/Softball family around the world."

In celebration of World Baseball Softball Day, on 10th May, the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) has released its Yearbook 2025.

The online publication provides an in-depth look into the 2025 season with reports from WBSC competitions, captivating images and data for fans worldwide.

Writing in his YearBook message, WBSC President Riccardo Fraccari said: "It was a year of continued growth and historic achievements that demonstrate the strength of our Baseball/Softball family around the world."

Fraccari added: "We delivered an outstanding WBSC events calendar in 2025, with 10 major tournaments showcasing the global reach of our sport."

The WBSC President focused particularly on the growth of the five-on-five version of Baseball/Softball: "I'm excited to see Baseball5 continue its impressive global expansion, reaching new audiences worldwide and creating new pathways for young people to engage with our sport. The signing of an MoU with the International School Sport Federation will see Baseball5 used to promote Baseball/Softball education in schools worldwide, including the potential creation of ISF World School Championships and the assessment of the integration of WBSC disciplines into future editions of the ISF Gymnasiade. The 2026 ISF Gymnasiade in Mexico will feature Baseball5 as part of the sports programme."

Fraccari also wrote about the organisation's Congress: "I was pleased we were able to gather in person at the WBSC Congress, where we elected a new Executive Board, which is more unified than ever following the elimination of the Baseball and Softball Divisions. I look forward to working together with all our Executive Board members, especially those who, with our new structure, represent their Continental Associations directly, as we continue to build the future of our sport."

On a final note, Fraccari wrote: "Looking ahead to 2026, the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal, will be a historic moment as Baseball5 makes its Olympic debut. This is a milestone we have worked towards for many years."

WBSC Secretary-General Beng Choo-Low added: "As we reflect on 2025, we celebrate another remarkable year for the global baseball and softball movement. The WBSC family continued to demonstrate the power of sport to unite communities, inspire athletes and strengthen our International Federation’s mission to grow our disciplines around the world."

"None of these achievements would be possible without the dedication of our member federations, athletes, officials, volunteers, partners and fans. Their passion and commitment drive the continued evolution of our sports and ensure that Baseball, Softball and Baseball5 remain vibrant and inclusive global disciplines," the WBSC Secretary-General added.

The publication is based on a template used for previous editions. The result is a perfect tool for reliving the 2025 season.
