Bonn Capitals win German Baseball Championship 2024

The Bonn Capitals won the German Baseball Championship 2024 after defeating the Untouchables Paderborn 3-2 in the best-of-five final series, capturing the title with a decisive 2-0 shutout.

Finals MVP Markus Solbach threw a complete game shutout in the rubber match of the series, while also driving in the go-ahead run with a RBI single.

For Bonn it’s their third championship title after 2018 and 2022. For Paderborn, a six-time champion in the past, it was the third straight finals defeat.

The Capitals advanced to the finals by defeating the Mainz Athletics in five games in the quarterfinals and the Heidenheim Heidekoepfe in five games in the semifinals.

Meanwhile, Heidenheim captured the Deutschlandpokal Baseball (German Baseball Cup) for the first time after beating the Untouchables 2-1 in the best-of-three final series. The Heidekoepfe had dethroned the Guggenberger Legionaere Regensburg in the semifinal of the Deutschlandpokal to reach the final.
