Lara win Venezuelan U-18 Baseball Championship
Lara outscored the hosts Carabobo in the championship game, 10-1, at the Alberto Bigote Vasquez Stadium in San Joaquin to win the 68th Venezuelan U-18 Baseball National Championship.
Monagas overcame Aragua, 14-7, to claim the bronze medal.
Zulia defeated Yaracui, 6-3, to clinch the last baseball berth in the XXII Youth National Games (Juegos Nacionales Juveniles), scheduled from August 22 to September 5.
The three host states of the 19-team U-18 Baseball National Championship - Guárico, Aragua and Carabobo - also qualified for the Youth National Games. The eighth participant will be La Guaira, one of the host states of the XXII Youth National Games.
Scheduled from June 6 to 17 in Caracas, Miranda and La Guaira, Venezuela's XXII Youth National Games will feature Baseball (Men's and Women's), Baseball5 and Softball (Men's and Women's) among the 70 disciplines on the programme.
Carabobo, Caracas, Falcón, Miranda, Sucre, Yaracuy, and the host Lara qualified for the Baseball5 tournament through the IV Youth Baseball5 National Championship in April. La Guiara will participate as the host State.
The hosts Anzoátegui, Aragua, Carabobo, Caracas, Lara, Miranda and Yaracuy qualified for the Youth National Games through the IX Women's Baseball Youth National Championship. La Guaira will participate as the host State.
Lara and Carabobo are the only States participating in all three disciplines.
