WADA publishes 2026 Prohibited Substance and Method List

The new list will be in effect on January 1, 2026, and is available for download on WADA's website. The WBSC Integrity Unit announced new features supporting its Play-Ball, Play-Fair campaign.

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) published the 2026 List of Prohibited Substances and Methods. The list will enter into force on January 1, 2026, and is available for download in five languages (English, French, Spanish and Turkish) on the WADA website. A link to the 2026 List of Prohibited Substances and Methods on the WADA page is also available under DOCUMENTS and REGULATIONS on the Anti-Doping section of the WBSC website.

The 2026 List of Prohibited Substances and Methods was approved by WADA’s Executive Committee during its meeting on 11 September 2025

Meanwhile, the WBSC Integrity Unit also announced to all WBSC Members new features supporting its Play-Ball, Play-Fair Anti-Doping campaign.

WADA's ADEL (Anti-Doping Education and Learning Platform) launched a new e-learning course, ADEL for Coaches of Recreational Athletes, which is now available on the ADEL platform in English, French and Spanish. The course provides essential, tailored anti-doping education for coaches who work with athletes competing at the recreational level. Specifically, participants taking this new course will learn to: 

  • share, demonstrate, reinforce, and promote the values of clean sport with their athletes; 
  • integrate clean sport principles into their daily coaching practice; and 
  • recognise when athletes are vulnerable, identify risk factors, and know how to help them overcome challenging moments in sport. 

The International Testing Agency (ITA) also announced relevant updates to the Athletes Hub, your go-to platform for clean sport knowledge on all key topics about competing clean.

The updated platform offers:

• Intuitive structure with quick links to each topic.
• New pages with comprehensive guidance on the Prohibited List, testing, whereabouts, supplements, medications, reporting, Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs) and more.
• New documents and quick guides to master your clean sport responsibilities.
• Easy-to-navigate FAQs on every page so you find answers fast.
• Fresh updates from ITA education activities to keep you informed.
