Sixteen teams set for softball at Central American and Caribbean Games

The Central American and Caribbean Games will take place from 24 July to 8 August 2026. Women’s softball will be played from 26 to 31 July, while the men’s tournament is scheduled from 3 to 8 August.

WBSC Americas has confirmed the participating teams for the men’s and women’s softball tournaments at the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 in the Dominican Republic, with eight national teams set to compete in each gender.

In the women’s tournament, defending champions and world No. 3 Puerto Rico will face Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Venezuela, El Salvador, United States Virgin Islands and hosts Dominican Republic.

The men’s tournament will feature Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Panama, Venezuela, Guatemala, Aruba and Dominican Republic.

 XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026

The Central American and Caribbean Games will take place from 24 July to 8 August 2026, marking the 100th anniversary of the regional multi-sport event, first held in 1926.

Women’s softball will be played from 26 to 31 July, while the men’s tournament is scheduled from 3 to 8 August. Both competitions will take place at the Centro Olimpico Juan Pablo Duarte.

Softball will feature 16 national teams across both genders. The competition is expected to follow a round-robin opening phase followed by a playoff stage to determine the medal winners.

Baseball is also part of the sport programme and will be played from 31 July to 7 August at Estadio Quisqueya.
