30th Italian Blind Baseball League opens March 28

The defending champions Leonessa Brescia will open in Messina. The 11-team league will have a 10-game regular season running through July 5. The championship game is scheduled for July 18 or 19.

Puerto Rico Baseball Federation and VIRTUS join forces to launch inclusive Baseball5 pathway for athletes with intellectual impairments

The WBSC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with VIRTUS to promote Baseball/Softball for athletes with intellectual impairments in 2022 and introduced Baseball5 to VIRTUS members last year.

Baseball5 partners with 3x3 Basketball to offer urban sport experience for special need students in Japan

Oberlin University in Machida City, Tokyo, hosted an event for 20 students from special needs schools. "Seeing the students play both sports in that small gymnasium made me feel there's real value in continuing our efforts," commented Kenta Wakamatsu, the Samurai Japan manager at the WBSC Baseball5 World Cup 2024 and Junk5 Elements coach who advocated the initiative.

Paris meeting marks promising step forward for international future of Blind Baseball

The French Institute for Blind Youth hosted the meeting. Tom Nagel, a WBSC Paralympic Commission incumbent member, represented the French Blind Baseball Association. A project developed in Vienna by the United Nations Sports Inclusive Initiative and the Italian Blind Baseball Association will serve as a benchmark for development in Paris.

Puerto Rico hosts second 'Hope Baseball Clinic'
