Five Plays for the History Books from the 2025 WBSC Baseball5 season
Speed, instincts, and teamwork were on full display throughout the international 2025 Baseball5 season, and nowhere was that more evident than at the WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup, hosted in Tepic, Mexico, from 24 to 29 September.
From the tournament, the WBSC Media Department selected five standout plays that captured the dynamic and fast-paced nature of Baseball5 and deserve another look.
The best play of the 2025 Baseball5 season belongs to Venezuela, produced during a high-intensity matchup against Chinese Taipei. Faced with a challenging situation, Venezuela relied on perfect coordination and teamwork to secure the out—an exemplary moment that showcased the sport’s emphasis on collective effort and split-second decision-making.
Türkiye’s Muhammed Alkan claimed second place with a spectacular diving play against Japan, laying out fully to rob a hit and demonstrate elite athleticism on the world stage.
At No. 3, Eligijus Miciuta of Lithuania showed outstanding individual skill and determination. Refusing to let a ball from Tunisia get past him, Miciuta made the play on his own, earning a well-deserved spot on the podium without the need for teammate support.
Rounding out the top five are highlight-reel plays from Cuba and Chinese Taipei, which secured fourth and fifth place, respectively, in the best Baseball5 plays of the year.
The complete collection of the five best plays from the 2025 Baseball5 season is available on the WBSC's YouTube Channel, offering fans another chance to enjoy the athleticism, creativity, and excitement that continue to define Baseball5 worldwide.
